Previously\, she worked as an acupuncturist in the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program at Fenway Health. Julie is passionate about integrating acupuncture into substanceuse disorder treatment plans to help reduce anxiety\, depression and cravings while improving sleep\, program adherence and retention. \nNicole Lincoln\, MSN\, RN\, FNP-BC\, CCNS \nNicole Lincoln\, an APRN with a nursing career that spans decades\, is a founding member and Executive Sponsor of the Integrative Nursing Council and Fellowship at Boston Medical Center. The Fellows and Council Members are passionate about integrating Holistic Nursing modalities into the standard of care\, promoting self-care and resiliency for staff\, and on providing therapies like reiki\, mindfulness\, music\, art\, and aromatherapy to patients. \nTim Murphy\, BSN\, RN \nTimothy is an ICU nurse at Boston Medical Center. Over the years\, he has gain competence in and has incorporate integrative medicine in his nursing practice. In addition to his role as a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit\, he co-leads the Integrative Nursing Council\, which has brought innovative\, evidence-based\, holistic nursing practices and integrative medicine into not only patient care but also care for his fellow nurses. Addiction professionals will gain tools to navigate these dynamics with empathy\, promote healing on both sides\, and foster inclusive\, affirming environments that support recovery and reconciliation.\nThis webinar is brought to you with support from NAADAC’s LGBTQiA+ Committee. \nPresenters\nDoug Smith\, BS\, CADC II\, has 21 years of experience working in behavioral health services\, including serving as a direct clinician\, Clinical Director\, and Director of Clinical Development. He has innovated many modern approaches to treatment services\, including developing new patient-centered treatment models. Smith developed the Emotional Attachment Behavioral Therapy (EABT) model and speaks nationally to professionals in the field about its positive outcomes. He is a member of the Oregon NAADAC Board and serves on the NAADAC- LGBTQIA+ committee as well. Smith is the recipient of the Oregon Association of Addiction Professionals’ 2023 Innovator of the Year Award as well as the 2018 Addiction Professional of the Year Community Service Award. He is also a NAADAC-approved education provider. \n \nRue Ether (they/them) is a nonbinary mental health and addiction professional based in Minneapolis Minnesota. Ether is finishing their final year in graduate school at Metropolitan State University. They currently work as an addiction counselor with primarily LGBTQIA+ clients. Ether is committed to promoting equal rights through diversity\, equity\, and inclusion efforts both in their counseling work and through advocacy. Her dedication to these communities and her private practice is fueled by a profound belief in her clients’ capacity for healing and lasting change. \n\n\n\n\n\nGus Raymond\, tLMHC\, NCC\, CADC\nGus Raymond\, LMHC\, NCC\, CADC\, is an accomplished professional speaker\, nationally certified therapist and substance counselor based in Storm Lake\, Iowa where he currently serves as a private practice therapist as well as the Director of Prevention and Intervention Services for Storm Lake Community Schools. In addition to his academic roles\, Raymond has provided professional development instruction in areas such as cultural navigation\, restorative practices\, and LGBTQ+ inclusivity in both academic and clinical environments. He is a member of GLSEN’s Educator’s Advisory Council (2023 cohort)\, contributing to shaping LGBTQ+ inclusion in school communities\, and a proud 2021 MFP-AC alum. Through using the clinical skills and interventions of attachment theory from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)\, participants will learn how to access systemic doorways into the neural networks that hold traumatic distress beneath addictive processes and utilize relationships as a curative factor. Participants will learn didactic information as well as explore this approach to addiction treatment by viewing an actual therapy session demonstrating working with addiction using EFT. The webinar will demonstrate clear\, basic EFT interventions that can be immediately applied to a clinician’s practices that elicit therapeutic opportunities for healing emotional distress within the context of their client’s relationships. \nPresenter\n \nMichael Barnett\, MA\, EdS\, Certified Emotionally Focused Therapy Trainer\, is a licensed clinical psychotherapist in both California and Georgia with over 30 years of clinical experience\, as well as a certified supervisor and trainer in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT). Barnett founded the Atlanta Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy in 2008 and directed it for over 15 years before moving to Southern California in 2020. He currently co-directs the EFT Center of Los Angeles. DESCRIPTION:Register Here\n  \nFor families and communities impacted by the opioid and substance use disorder epidemic\, finding a way to lovingly support a friend or family member struggling with using substances\, while still maintaining healthy boundaries\, can often be challenging. \nWe are excited to host an introductory presentation on Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT). The CRAFT approach to substance use/misuse intervention teaches family members how to support and communicate with someone who has a substance use disorder or who is misusing drugs and alcohol. This approach focuses on using positive reinforcement to combat substance use and encourage steps toward recovery. CRAFT can help family members support a loved one without relying on confrontation or shame. Instead\, loved ones focus on rewarding positive behaviors to help guide behavior change with empathy and care. \nThis presentation will feature a panel of experts familiar with CRAFT and have trained and/or implemented CRAFT in their communities. As a support professional—whether you’re a counselor\, social worker\, therapist\, educator\, or prevention specialist—having the right tools and language to engage youth in meaningful\, developmentally appropriate ways can make a profound difference. The 7Cs Framework for Substance Misuse Prevention is designed to equip professionals with a compassionate\, prevention-based approach. Rooted in the 7Cs framework—I didn’t CAUSE it. I can’t CONTROL it. I can’t CURE it. BUT I can take CARE of myself\, by COMMUNICATING my feelings\, making healthy CHOICES\, and CELEBRATING myself-this session provides practical strategies to help youth & families build protective factors and navigate the ripple effects of substance misuse in the family. Participants will leave with digital and printable resources ready to use in clinical\, educational\, and community settings. \nPresenter\nSarah Behm (she/her)\, PPS\, MBA\, works as the Director of the Eluna Resource Center\, supporting children and families impacted by grief and addiction with personalized support & resources (in Spanish and English). Specializing in trauma-informed care and social emotional learning\, Behn previously worked with over 300 schools across the United States\, including Puerto Rico and Guam\, to reduce bullying and incorporate restorative practices. Behn also led the research and design of a peer-to-peer alcohol & drug prevention training for middle and high school students. As a seasoned consultant and credentialed school counselor\, Behm believes in the power of partnering with families\, support professionals\, and communities to foster unity and transformation. \nLearning Objectives\n\nParticipants will be able to summarize the meaningful impact of the 7Cs through real-life stories\, examples\, and their relevance to professional practice.\nParticipants will be able to integrate the 7Cs into their interactions\, prevention strategies\, and programming using a strengths-based approach.\nParticipants will be able to access and implement practical tools and resources to support youth and families across home\, school\, and community environments.\n\nContent Level\nAll levels. \n\nBeginning level courses introduce learners to a content area; include information about a condition\, treatment method\, or issue; and involve learning and comprehending content.\nIntermediate level courses provide information that builds on knowledge practitioners with some experience already have. DESCRIPTION:Register Here\n  \nNovember 20\, 2025\n9:00 am–10:00 am ET \nThis training is designed to provide an introductory overview of alcohol use disorders. We will explore the latest epidemiological data\, with a focus on the prevalence and trends of alcohol use and alcohol use disorders in the United States. Diagnostic criteria and screening tools to assess for alcohol use disorders will be discussed. Additionally\, we will examine evidence-based interventions to treat alcohol use disorders and support individuals in their recovery. \nDescription\nBased on findings from the 2022 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH)\, 29.5 million people ages 12 and older (10.5%) met criteria for an alcohol use disorder (AUD). There are also more than 140\,000 deaths annually attributed to excessive alcohol use. \nTo equip the healthcare workforce to better address this public health concern\, this training is designed to provide an introductory overview of alcohol use disorders. We will explore the latest epidemiological data\, with a focus on the prevalence and trends of alcohol use and alcohol use disorders in the United States. Diagnostic criteria and screening tools to assess for alcohol use disorders will be discussed.
