Description
Many standard practices in substance use disorder care can unintentionally endanger or retraumatize survivors of intimate partner violence. This webinar highlights seven common approaches—including rigid intake/exit policies, sequential treatment of trauma and addiction, victim-blaming attitudes, required mutual aid participation, unsafe partner inclusion, coercive tactics, and suspicion toward clients—that create barriers to safety and healing. Participants will learn practical “antidotes” and trauma-informed alternatives to better support survivors in recovery.
