Description
Youth and young adults impacted by familial substance misuse often face complex challenges, internalized stigma, and difficult questions that can be hard to process. As a support professional—whether you’re a counselor, social worker, therapist, educator, or prevention specialist—having the right tools and language to engage youth in meaningful, developmentally appropriate ways can make a profound difference. The 7Cs Framework for Substance Misuse Prevention is designed to equip professionals with a compassionate, prevention-based approach. Rooted in the 7Cs framework—I didn’t CAUSE it. I can’t CONTROL it. I can’t CURE it. BUT I can take CARE of myself, by COMMUNICATING my feelings, making healthy CHOICES, and CELEBRATING myself-this session provides practical strategies to help youth & families build protective factors and navigate the ripple effects of substance misuse in the family. Participants will leave with digital and printable resources ready to use in clinical, educational, and community settings.
